Disney’s POP Century Resort

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort during our runDisney Wine and Dine trip. We were only staying one night because we had reservations at our Disney Vacation Club home resort of Disney’s Boardwalk Villas. This was a last-minute add-on to our trip because I was lucky enough to score a runDisney Meet-up invitation!
To book this reservation, I choose to use Chris with Pixie Vacations. Booking with Pixie was easy, she found me a great deal for one night at POP for $97.20. She was professional and I would recommend her travel services. We could have had a less expensive room in Disney’s All Stars resorts, but since we have stayed in the All Stars 3 prior times prior to becoming Disney Vacation Club owners, we choose to stay somewhere new (to us)!
Check-in was easy – I had gone online to My Disney Experience to link my reservation to my account and then to order my MagicBand. Our Boardwalk stay MagicBands had already been delivered to our home prior to our trip, but since this reservation was booked within 2-weeks of arrival, these bands would not be shipped to our home, but be available at check-in. We had the ability to use all three bands on property at POP and also at Boardwalk to get into our rooms and to make on-property purchases. Also, we had one little mess up. Our last name was spelled incorrectly in the reservation system. It wasn’t a big deal, the Cast Member fixed it upon check-in.
We had requested a building close to Class Hall (check-in, shopping, and food court). We were assigned to the Lady in the Tramp building, room 1262 on the second floor. We drove our car over to the parking lot – very close parking. And used the elevators to take us to the second floor. Our room was located directly across from the 50’s Bowling Pools – prime location.
The room was very clean and tidy. The layout reminds me of a Days Inn room, but there it stops. It’s nicer and Disney Themed. The beds and linens were comfortable, but since the beds were double beds, my husband and I decided to take one bed each! The wall paper and tiles in the bath were looking a little tired, but other than that the room was very well maintained.
Since we were there for only one night – we did not use the pool or food court. However, we did check them out and found they are typical of a Disney Value Resort food court and pool. I would recommend Disney’s Pop Century as a great place to stay on property for its cost, prime location, and clean rooms. My husband agrees and said, “It was nicer than I expected – plus it had a cooler.” He’s very deep.
