Disney’s Caribbean Beach
I got the opportunity to stay at this non Disney Vacation Club property during the 2013 runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Coincidentally, I was bunking with another DVC’er and we both booked our rooms too late! It turns out I was pleasantly surprised by this resort!
Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort is centrally located in Walt Disney World. Disney considers Caribbean to be a Epcot Area resort and I would highly recommend it for runDisney events that begin or end in Epcot – like Wine & Dine, Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
This was the first of Disney’s budget resorts, but it is now considered a moderate. It is a big resort with five villages surrounding Barefoot Bay. These village represent the Caribbean islands of Martinique, Barbados, Trinidad, Aruba and Jamaica.
Caribbean has it’s own resort shuttle so allow plenty of time for bus transportation. If renting a car, this resort has parking near each building. Be aware when packing that there are no elevators and the buildings are two-story.
There is a Market Street food court and sit-down restaurant, Shutters. There is plenty to do here such as biking, boating and swimming.
Each of the rooms has a small refrigerator, coffeemaker and Wifi.

Our family loved CBR. It’s my husband’s favorite. I wish they would make some of the rooms like POR with the fifth bed so we could stay there again. The kids really loved the pirate water play area. 🙂
