Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Review
On my recent trip to the 2013 runDisney The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Weekend, I had the pleasure of staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. This was a quick 2-night trip to the World and then I would be traveling on for business.
As a Disney Vacation Club Member, I don’t normally have the pleasure of staying in a non DVC resort and I was excited to see first-hand the resort that many of my non-DVC friends had vacationed.
POFQ is considered a moderate resort in the Downtown Disney Area. I would recommend staying there for WDW Marathon Weekend and Princess Weekend due to its proximity to EPCOT.
The guest rooms are located in 3-story buildings and they have elevators. I had already checked into the resort via My Disney Experience. I had ordered my Magic Band, linked my annual pass and my reservation.
The rooms are similar to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. There are 2 queen-size beds, a table with 2 chairs, mini refrigerator, flat-screen TV, and double-sinks. Free WIFI is included.
POFQ’s food court, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, is open throughout the day. I enjoyed both a light snack and an early dinner before my race. The cuisine is your choice – typical park food or New Orleans favorites.
The pool, Doubloon Lagoon, was very nice. It featured a bright blue sea serpent waterside. Pool activities for the guests were underway when I visited. There was also a pool bar and it was quite crowded!
I had booked my trip with Amy Smith (www.pumpkintoprincess.com) from Mouseplanner. I had a wonderful experience with Amy and highly recommend her services. She took care of booking my room, Magical Express transportation and requesting a room closer to the main check in area (due to my recent surgery and on-going treatment). She can be reached at amy@mousekeplanner.com.
Your links to Amy and her email don’t seem to be accurate.
